The Research Behind These Assessments

Our screenings are adapted from recognized instruments and clinical frameworks. The ADHD screen follows the World Health Organization's Adult ADHD Self-Report Scale (ASRS-v1.1); the mood screen is informed by widely used bipolar-spectrum screening questionnaires; and the emotional-intelligence assessment draws on the ability-model tradition of Salovey & Mayer and public-domain self-report measures such as Schutte et al.'s AES (1998). These tools are for education and screening only — they cannot diagnose.

Every individual test page provides its specific references and an honest note on its level of empirical support.

If you need support now

Self-assessments cannot replace professional care. If symptoms persist or worsen, talk to a doctor or licensed mental-health professional. If you may be in immediate danger, call your local emergency number; in the US/Canada call or text 988, in the UK/Ireland call Samaritans at 116 123, or visit findahelpline.com.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can these tests diagnose ADHD, bipolar disorder, or depression?
No. They are self-report screening and awareness tools, not diagnostic instruments. Only a qualified clinician can diagnose after a full evaluation.
What should I do with my screening result?
Use it as a starting point. If results suggest significant symptoms, or if symptoms affect your work, relationships, or safety, book an appointment with a doctor or licensed mental-health professional and share what you found.
What if I am in crisis right now?
If you may be in immediate danger, call your local emergency number. In the US or Canada call or text 988; in the UK or Ireland call Samaritans at 116 123; elsewhere visit findahelpline.com.
How is emotional intelligence measured?
Emotional intelligence models cover perceiving, understanding, using, and regulating emotions. Our assessment is a self-reflection questionnaire based on published academic models — it is not a clinical or clinical-grade instrument.
